SUNDEO CHURCH MANAGEMENT

About the software

General questions about what Sundeo is and how the product is licensed.

What is Sundeo Church Management?
Sundeo is church management software designed for Directory, Groups and Classes, Church Feed communication, Chats, Prayer Requests, Attendance, Service Planning, Follow-Up, Outreach, Calendar/Events, and connected church workflows.
Is Sundeo sold in feature tiers?
No. Sundeo is sold as the complete Church Management software. We do not lock core features behind different software tiers; when you buy Sundeo you get it all, from there you can choose to enable or disable core features as suites your church. Hosting, add-ons, and optional hands-on services are separate from the software purchase.
Is Sundeo limited by the number of users or people in the Directory?
Sundeo is not structured as a per-user or per-person subscription product. If you are self-hosting, your hosting environment still needs enough capacity for your church's actual use.
Where do I learn how to use features inside Sundeo?
Use the Quick Guide for shorter role-focused instructions and the Manual for deeper reference material, administration, configuration, and maintenance information.
Can church leaders have access without seeing every administrative area?
Yes. Sundeo uses role and assignment-based access so Leads can manage the Groups, Classes, Services, Attendance, Follow-Up, and related areas assigned to them without automatically receiving full Administrator access.
PURCHASES & CUSTOMER ACCOUNT

Buying Sundeo and managing your account

The Store and Customer Account are the customer-facing parts of Sundeo.org. Host Center works behind the scenes to fulfill and manage eligible services.

What happens after I purchase Sundeo?
After payment is confirmed, the order moves into fulfillment. Hosted services are provisioned and self-hosted orders receive the information needed for their installation. When an installation is ready, the customer receives the appropriate activation or setup information.
How do I sign in to my Sundeo Customer Account?
The Customer Account uses the billing email associated with your Sundeo purchase. A one-time code is emailed to that address so sundeo.org does not need to store a separate customer account password.
What can I do from the Customer Account?
Depending on the services connected to your account, you can review installations, orders, subscriptions, plan options, eligible add-ons, payment history, and secure Stripe billing management.
Can I purchase an add-on later?
Yes, when an add-on is eligible for the installation or plan. Available services can be offered during checkout and may also be available from the Customer Account at a later date.
Where do invoices and payment methods live?
Secure billing management is handled through Stripe Customer Portal opened from the Sundeo Customer Account. Sundeo.org does not ask you to manage card details directly inside the church software.
HOSTING, INSTALLATION & UPDATES

Choosing where Sundeo runs

The Sundeo software is the same complete product. The main difference between plans is who provides the hosting and which management services are included.

What is the difference between Self-Hosted and Sundeo Hosted?
With Self-Hosted, the church provides and controls a compatible PHP/MySQL hosting account. With Sundeo Hosted, Sundeo provides the application hosting environment. The software features are not reduced simply because a church chooses one hosting model instead of the other.
Can Sundeo be installed on my existing church hosting?
Yes, when the hosting environment meets Sundeo's requirements. Self-hosted churches remain responsible for their hosting account, storage, backups, domain/SSL configuration, and hosting-level access unless an optional service specifically covers part of that work.
What is Assisted Installation?
Assisted Installation is an optional service for eligible self-hosted purchases when the church wants help installing and configuring Sundeo on its compatible hosting environment.
How do Sundeo updates work?
Connected installations can receive eligible release information through Host Center. Depending on the church's plan and update service, a release may be made available for an Administrator to install, installed automatically, or handled through another supported update workflow.
Do updates sometimes require a database upgrade?
Yes. Some releases include cumulative database changes. When required, the software installation and database upgrade are treated as distinct steps so the installation can confirm both parts completed successfully.
Should a self-hosted church keep backups?
Yes. Self-hosted churches should maintain current database and application-file backups and should have a restore point before significant updates or hosting changes.
CHURCH WEBSITES

Public website questions

Sundeo Church Websites are public-facing sites that can be hosted alongside Sundeo Church Management.

Is the Church Website the same thing as Church Management?
No. The Church Website is the public-facing site visitors can browse without signing into Church Management. The two products can be connected so information such as Calendar/Events does not have to be managed in multiple places.
Can I edit the Church Website myself?
Yes. The site includes church-focused editing for text, images, buttons, pages, sections, navigation, ministries, staff, sermons, series, announcements, service information, and other public content supported by the site.
Can the website use my church's own domain?
Eligible websites can use a custom domain. Domain setup needs to preserve unrelated DNS records—especially email records—while the website records are pointed to the hosted site.
How does Sundeo Calendar connect to the website?
The website can be connected through Sundeo Feature Settings → Calendar/Events. Once connected, Sundeo can act as the source for public Upcoming Events and Calendar sections. The website syncs automatically and also provides a Sync Now option for an immediate refresh.
Is a custom website build available?
Yes. An optional custom website build is available for eligible Website + Sundeo customers who want help preparing the initial church site.
HOST CENTER & CONNECTED SERVICES

What customers need to know about Host Center

Host Center is the management system behind connected installations and services. Customers generally interact with it indirectly through Sundeo.org and their church installation.

What is Sundeo Host Center?
Host Center manages connected installation records, release availability, supported update delivery, provisioning status, and certain connected services. It is not the normal day-to-day church administration area.
Do church customers need a Host Center administrator login?
No. The customer-facing account and the church's own Sundeo Administrator tools are the appropriate places for church users. Host Center handles platform-side installation and service management and is only accessible to the Sundeo Development Team.
What is an Installation ID or connection code?
Connected installations use unique registration information so Host Center can identify the correct church installation without exposing another church's records. These IDs as well as other connection codes should always be kept private and not publicly shared.
What is Sundeo Managed Google Maps?
Managed Maps is an optional service that can provide church-specific Google Maps configuration for Sundeo Outreach. Churches may use the managed option or configure their own eligible Google Maps credentials when supported.
What if an installation loses its Host Center connection?
The church software itself will continue to function, but connected services such as release visibility, updates or platform-managed configuration can be affected. The installation can be reconnected using its authorized installation information or a supported manual connection workflow (if this happens church admins should fill out a support ticket in the System Section of the Admin Center).
